Recently, we attended the AUVSI Xponential 2019 tradeshow in Chicago, where we were able to view new unmanned systems.

This event is the largest conference for industry leaders and professionals in all unmanned and autonomous systems, and a place where attendees can meet companies and other professionals from around the world, including places like Denmark.

We saw many cool pieces of technology on the show floor, including the Bell Helicopter’s Nexus, powered transport concept, which is the future of urban air transportation. The Bell Nexus is the perfect combination of transport, technology, comfort, and convenience. The Nexus captures the long-sought-after vision of quick air travel with a unique in-flight experience, keeping passengers from wasting valuable time and keeping them connected to their busy lives. Event attendees were able to sit in the helicopter and experience what it would be like to fly in it, giving attendees an impressive look into the future of transportation with this disruptive piece of technology. Bell Helicopters also showed the unique and adaptable APT 20 and the APT 70, their custom made drones are large scale delivery vehicles that are also targeted for both military and civilian use.

Teledyne and the Modular Battery System

Teledyne is a leading manufacturer in the production of oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, test instruments to analyze performance, debug complex electronic systems quickly and thoroughly, and validate compliance. Teledyne incorporates powerful tools into its innovative products. Our partnership with Teledyne is fairly new, but we were excited to showcase their modular battery system at our booth and speak with attendees about why this system is useful and essential for our products.

Not only were we able to view great exhibits and see some really amazing unmanned systems at AUVSI Xponential 2019 we were also able to connect with friends, including our colleague Brandon Reimschiissel from Lockheed Martin, who we have worked with on several projects. Brandon also showed us the Lockheed Martin Indago quadcopter platform that is targeted for public safety and military use. The Indago quadcopter platform is a tethered option that can be modified to allow longer missions without worrying about draining the battery.

AUVSI is the world’s largest nonprofit organization devoted exclusively to advancing the unmanned systems and robotics community. Every year they present XPONENTIAL, an event that gives attendees the opportunity to connect with more than 8,500 people, over 700 exhibitors, attend over 150 sessions for learning, and see unmanned systems in action.
